30 people have banded together to accused me. I am honest stylist. Never charge for things I do not do. Some people have neck hair that grows back fast. They must sign off that services where provided and that the billing amount is correct. Now they are saying that they never received the services I billed them for. Where do I go from here?

My GF worked in an AL. She paid them rent. She got her money at the time of service.

Maybe you need to show the facility that your prices are average for the area. I would hope you have a sign posted what your prices are. Point it out to each client. Give them a price before you even start. If they don't like it, don't do their hair. Actually, you can charge whatever you want. Good that you make them sign. That is your proof.

Like said, these people may have some cognitive impairment. One little Bitty told the other biddies she did not get this service and now they think they didn't either. You have the receipt with their signature, thats your proof. I would not cut hair for these 30 until you get this straighten out.

In momma's assisted living they cannot keep a hair stylist employed. I have found out that they were not getting paid by the facility. Normally when momma goes and gets her hair done the service would show up on her bill but when I looked at her bills some of the services were two to three months old. Oh wonder the hair stylist was not getting paid in a timely manner. The assisted living facility is suppose to be in the process of finding another hair stylist but it has already been over a month. It is convenient for momma and she likes to get her hair done.

My hairdresser worked for the Senior Center in our town twice a month, doing cuts (including wash hair, cut & blow dry), at very affordable prices. She started getting stiffed by the Senior Center for payment. After 2 years she quit. She made more at the salon and was paid on delivery.

I’m sorry this is happening; cxmoody has a very good idea going forward. Images of each resident before and after the appointment.
It sounds as if the residents were not aware of add-on expenses to a basic cut? If you’re going to continue to provide services to these residents, or any other group facilities it might be a good idea to clearly let the resident know before and after services rendered about the “extras” in more than one way. Verbally, in writing, and through email to clients and/ or their POA .
Please update us and let us know how it’s working out; my Dad gets haircuts in his facility; I’m his POA and have wondered about bills like this before, so an email or text to explain amounts charged would be nice. His petty cash just disappears over a few months; I realize incidentals can add up.

I filled out a form once of what was to be done for Mom , the form was given to the hairstylist . She only did what was on the form . I filled out what Mom wanted . Wash and blow dry style and curling iron , weekly . Every six weeks hair color and trim .
If Mom had decided to change that or add something , I would have had to fill out a new form .
All charges for hair services were listed and attached monthly to her bill for her room in assisted living . I paid the assisted living facility , they settled up and gave the hairstylist what she was due . I used to also drop in and give the hairstylist a tip once a month .

Maybe take a picture of each resident, before they leave your chair. That way, you would have a timestamp.

You go nowhere......realize you work in a community where the old biddies have dementia AND they're cheapskates too. Keep good records of the services rendered so when you're accused of "not giving Delores a haircut" you can pull up the receipt immediately and tell her she must've forgotten but "see where you signed"? Let admin know of the issues you're being accused of, and that you're not forcing ANYONE to use your salon. If they don't want to, by all means DON'T.

Impaired memory + impaired concept of value + impaired wallets = impaired business model

The OP needs to come up with a system to combat future accusations and misperceptions... but is it worth it?
