If her rants become too unbearable, try this. Excuse yourself from her room, breathe, tell yourself, "you'll miss her when she's gone, " return and when she starts being negative, just say, "mom, I love you." If she softens, ask her if you can hug her. Then return her mind to a pleasant moment of her life, if she had one, i.e., her childhood. She has a personality that will keep her living for a number of years. She wants to know that she's still needed. You don't want to say, "it's okay if you go, we'll be okay." Wishing you patience and strength. I check on both parents, 85 & 87 daily. They have health challenges so I do appreciate them being with me.
